Georgiana – Founder and Adoption Coordinator
Mossmania began when I volunteered at a dog shelter in Romania and met a dog called Moss who I wanted to rescue. When I found him a home, I then decided I want to help rehome more dogs in his position. Some people feed them, some take them to the vets, and organisations undertake spaying campaigns, but it is still not enough. I could not just sit by and do nothing. I now coordinate adoptions for Mossmania here in Romania and I also care for dogs myself. Two recent rescues, Fatty and Blondie, came to me aged only 2 weeks and I bottle-fed them every 3 hours.
Lisa – Fundraising
I first became involved with MossMania in 2021 after adopting my dog Maisy from them. Soon after, I realised there was a need for someone to help raise funds. For a small organisation in a country which traditionally has very poor regard for dogs, relying solely on public donations was a bit of a non-starter. In December 2021 I set up a Facebook page entirely for fundraising . Not only has it been a lifeline when funds have depleted, I’ve also found it to be a friendly dog loving community with very loyal supporters.
If you have any fundraising ideas, or just want a chat about Mossmania, please get in touch!
Janey – Adoption team
I first became involved with Mossmania in December 2021. I lost my beloved Staffie at the age of 12 and I immediately applied to Mossmania to foster a Rescue dog as my home was so empty. Ten days later my first foster dog arrived and soon after I was asked to become a volunteer for Mossmania. Between December and March I fostered ten dogs, all of which went to loving homes..apart from one…My Nina, who was and still is so nervous of everything. Ultimately her vulnerability made her become a failed foster. Nina is now part of our family and she is the most grateful dog I’ve ever known. Fostering is truly the most rewarding job and owning a Rescue dog is worth every moment.
Sharon – Promotions
I have been a volunteer with MossMania since July 2021 and have spoken to lots of our fantastic adopters over this time; it’s great to get to know people & follow their journeys. I found MossMania when looking to adopt a beautiful soul of my own, Remy; he has been a godsend to us, an angel! He made me want to help others in the same situation & MossMania welcomed me into the team. We are all here to find homes for these little souls who have not had the best starts in life.
Anne – UK Banking, Adoption Team and Foster Mother
I became involved with MossMania after adopting a dog in early 2021. Although we already have dogs on the farm, I wanted a dog for my son and thought it would be nice to give a dog in need a home. My favourite part of fostering dogs is seeing them arrive at their new homes.
