Testimonies

A few months after losing two beloved rescue dogs, I felt ready to try again and contacted some rescue shelters to offer to foster a dog. Mossmania answered first, almost immediately, and I am so glad they did. They were well-organised, professional and very thorough. Georgiana suggested Samson who has a degenerative condition in his back legs. Something they think he was likely born with and possibly being a guarding breed, he’s maybe been chucked because of his condition as he was found just wandering a field.
We agreed to take him on and were kept well informed of his journey and welfare. Initially our other dog didn’t react well to Samson and one day they had a big fight. I got onto FB messenger to ask Mossmania for advice. Their expertise and support was out of this world: I was contacting them constantly for about 3 months after this pretty much on a weekly, sometimes daily basis. They were so determined to help me. I honestly don’t know how we’d have done it without them, and after a couple of months we decided we wanted to keep this dog, and Samson became Dougal. It’s fun figuring things out with him and learning all his quirky ways. Dougal reminds me that rescuing a dog is the most rewarding gift you can give, not only for that dog, in fact possibly more so for yourself. It’s a cliche, who rescued who! Dougal has brought me back to life and made me realise once again why I love rescue dogs. You forget all the parts at the beginning: the journey through recovery and the discovery of each other and finding things out about yourself that you never knew. That overwhelming feeling of love, that until that moment, never existed, and you never knew you had in you, till this dog shows you! Dougal is my new best friend, the new love of my life. My saving grace. I can, and I will use that cliche if you don’t mind, because this boy did save me. From a world of grief and a life of loneliness. He came as a foster and he’s staying as part of our growing family. We love our Dougal to the big moon bear and back, and his forever home is right here with us!

The first photo is of Izzy ( was Lizzie) when she got of the bus, the 2nd one is her first holiday, 3rd is her gotcha day and the last one is her happy face on a big walk. The best decision we ever made last year was adopting from MossMania our Izzy has completed our lives and filled our hearts with happiness. She is the most loving and loyal girl I have ever met. And you can see from the photos how she has grown from this timid little girl to a happy and beautiful girl! we just love her! – Michelle

We got Bella in May 2021. The process to apply was easy to follow. All the volunteers were so kind, helpful and caring. They stay in touch if you need them also which is above and beyond in my eyes: this is why I decided to volunteer to help them, in order to give something back and save more dogs just like my Bella

MossMania provide a great rescue service and clearly love and care for ALL the dogs.

MossMania are fab! Always there to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

We have before and after photos of our beautiful Nyx (previously Jessie) and gorgeous Merlin (previously Bruce). Nyx arrived in October 2021. She was incredibly affectionate right from the start and we can’t imagine life without her. She has put on weight and been warmly accepted by our other rescue dogs and is now an essential member of our family: relaxed, happy and very loved!

Merlin managed to make it here not long before the travel ban, after spending 6 months having nobody express interest in him. We had 3 dogs at this point and hadn’t really intended getting another for a while but when we spotted him on the site as “Dog of the Day” and read how long he’d been there, we couldn’t resist! He is an absolute delight, so friendly and loving that we feel guilty for having such an easy dog! Six months on, he is a welcome and adored member of our home – and enjoys being on guard duty with Nyx! We cannot thank everyone involved with Mossmania enough for allowing us to have these 2 fantastic animals and for all the incredible work they do with all the dogs they help.

Mossmania were different from the start. Unlike other charities and shelters, they treated me like a person. They responded to my questions and chased my adoption form, making me feel that they were genuinely interested in me. They were responsive and answered my questions, encouraging me to ask more and keen to find the right dog for me rather than just to put us together and hope for the best. The adoption process was smooth as I was able to meet Rosco (was Toby) and his foster mum Anne was happy to chat to me beforehand. I’ve had a lot of support from Anne and the other staff since. The foster fee was in my eyes entirely reasonable given that Rosco was transported over from Romania, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered – as well as obviously being fed and cared for beforehand. When I had a health concern with Rosco 9 months after I got him, I dropped a panicked message not expecting an immediate response but Mossmania got straight on the phone to assist me. I cannot recommend this little team highly enough. Thank you, Mossmania, for giving me my beloved little boy. He has made my life complete and we all absolutely adore him!

The 1st picture is the day Orla arrived on the happy bus, From the moment I applied to adopt her, Mossmania was fantastic. I felt like the vetting process was really good, ensuring I was the right person for Orla and that I understood her needs too. From her arrival in October 2021 she’s been a bundle of love. She’s so affectionate with everyone she meets! I couldn’t imagine life without her. She’s made me feel complete. I love her to bits and I can’t recommend Mossmania enough; they are amazing people who love and care about the dogs
